it's never over.

being put in charge gets me flustered. today i was put in charge of successfully turning on and shutting off our 50,000 dollar NIRS machine. and when the machine wouldn't turn on. i was worried. no one else that was at work today knew anything about it. so i called my supervisor david, he walked me through some stuff, then ended up talking to me for 14 minutes about the lynard skynard concert he went to last night. turns out all i forgot to do was turn the switch to on, on the power strip. funny thing is, i thought about that earlier, i knew it was going to be something stupid that i didn't do, so i checked all the plug ins and all the switches but that one, because i didn't know it was there. no one ever turns it off, all you have to do is plug in the machine and turn it on, the power strip threw me off. it's an understandable mistake, but also embarrassing. after that 15-20 minute ordeal, i felt like i was going to pass out.
